Bambie Thug has won Eurosong 2024 and will represent Ireland in Malmo in May 2024.
Even before the results were announced there many audience members were chanting “Bambie, Bambie, Bambie” and shouting “Send the Witch.”
RTE reports, “Speaking about the support on the night, Bambie said: “There were banners and everything! It was crazy. I definitely was having a bit of a dissociative moment, an out-of-body experience for the whole thing, to be honest.”
The Irish Times said of it, “Their song Doomsday Blue and its gothic staging, with its evocation of fairytale castles and goblins, was the overwhelming choice of two of the three juries – the domestic one, and the watching public – though it was not the pick of the international jury.”
